The conference venue is the Löwengebäude, Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg and you will be lodging at the Ankerhof Hotel.

By air

We recommend flying into Berlin or Leipzig/Halle and taking the train down to Halle (Saale), which is about a ninety-minute train ride away from Berlin and thirty minutes away from Leipzig.

Alternatively, you can choose to travel to Frankfurt (Main) or Munich and continue by train to Halle (Saale), which takes about four hours or five hours respectively.

By train

Take a train to Halle (Saale) Hauptbahnhof (main station).

You can check for timetables and book a ticket on the website of the Deutsche Bahn (www.bahn.com). There are bargain price options if you book one or two months in advance, possibly also offered by your local travel agency. You can also buy a ticket at the airport/station once you arrive in Germany, of course (no special offers possible).

* A note on the website of the Deutsche Bahn: For a change of language, you are asked to select your country. Unfortunately, you need to type in/select the German names of cities and stations. Relevant stations and terms are:

• main station: "Hauptbahnhof", abbreviation, "Hbf"
• airport: "Flughafen"
• Munich: "München" (the website also accepts the word without the umlaut)

The venue (Löwengebäude, Martin-Luther-University) is a twenty-minute walk from Halle (Saale) main station (see map below). Alternatively you can go by streetcar (line 7, nearest stop: Neues Theater; line 2,5, nearest stop: Joliot-Curie-Platz) which should take you about 10 minutes.

The accommodation facilities (Ankerhof Hotel) are a twenty-five minute walk from Halle (Saale) main station and may also be reached by streetcar within fifteen minutes (line 2, 4, 9, nearest station: Saline; line 5, nearest station: Ankerstraße) or cab alternatively.
